MILAN - The Nerazzurri’s adventure at Milano Design Week continued on day two for the youngsters involved in Design for Sport, the scheme promoted by FC Internazionale Milano with the RM Institute Fashion and Design. It’s a journey through the principles of design that will inspire the concept behind the livery for the new team bus that Inter will use during the 2019-20 season.
How design interacts with people on a daily basis is a key theme and the students started from this point in devising their concepts for the Nerazzurri’s new coach, combining the values of the Club with innovation and a look to the future, perfectly in line with the guiding philosophy of FC Internazionale Milano.
The day also featured two important speakers who shed light onto the interconnectivity between design and sport. CCO of Cyber Pirelli Daniel Gainza illustrated the links between sport and design and how it impacts performance. Designer and Lecturer at RM Institute Fashion and Design Franco Achilli also gave a talk titled ‘Design e Zeitgeist: La grafica delle Olimpiadi’ [Design and the Zeitgeist: Graphics of the Olympics] where he discussed historic symbols of the Olympic Games.
On Friday, the Design Manager of Technogym Mario Fedriga will speak during 'Technogym: Ricerca, Innovazione e Design per lo Sport' [Technogym: Research, Innovation and Design for Sport]. The Founder of Second StAR VR Lorenzo Montagna will also speak with ‘Design 2.0, oltre lo schermo verso l'esperienza della realtà’ [Beyond the screen towards an experience of reality]. Attendance at these events can be booked by registering on designforsport.inter.it.
FC Internazionale Milano Vice President Javier Zanetti, both CEOs Alessandro Antonello and Giuseppe Marotta, Inter Forever Director Francesco Toldo, captain Samir Handanovic, President of the ADI-Associazione for Industrial Design Luciano Galimberti and College Director for the RM Institute Fashion and Design Pasquale Volpe will form special jury to decide on the winning concept.
At 18:00 CEST on Saturday 13th April, the Raffles building at 16 via Felice Casati will host CEO Alessandro Antonello as he announces the project winner before opening the exhibition featuring the work of the youngsters from the 14 Milanese institutions taking part.
