The second edition is underway for the organisation that has the task of being a custodian for the values and history of the Club

MILAN - Following the success of the first edition which saw Walter Zenga, Javier Zanetti, Lothar Matthäus and Ronaldo named as the inaugural members, voting has opened for the 2019 edition of the FC Internazionale Milano Hall of Fame.

The institution has the task of being a custodian for the history and memories created by the players who have represented the Club since foundation. For the second edition, the four players who entered previously will no longer be eligible (they can be chosen in the Mondo Inter category). Marco Materazzi joins the defender category and Alvaro Recoba enters the list of strikers who are candidates.

Here’s a brief recap of the Club’s criteria on who is eligible for the Hall of Fame. Candidates must have:

    •    Made at least 60 appearances for Inter;

    •    Won at least one trophy with Inter;

    •    Have been retired as a player for at least three years;

All fans, without needing to register on the website, can express their preferences on inter.it for four players in the goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker categories from a list of players who have made history for Inter since 1908 to the current day.

Fans will be at the heart of the event with the fan vote counting for 50 per cent in determining who joins the Hall of Fame. In addition to the fan vote, the Club will also take the following into account preferences from the following:

    •    Italian and international media

    •    Players from all the official Inter teams

    •    Inter employees and collaborators

    •    Existing Hall of Fame members

Voting in all categories will be open immediately on the official website which will feature statistics on all of the Hall of Fame candidates and fans can share their choices on social media.

Every year, Inter will pay tribute to the player recognised who will in turn donate a piece of memorabilia linked to the world of Inter to further enhance the heritage that is available for fans to enjoy.
