Salcedo, Rizzo and Colidio scored as the Nerazzurri came from behind at the Stadio Breda to claim three important points

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Armando Madonna’s Under-19s claimed their seventh win from the last eight in Primavera 1 TIM, coming from behind to beat Roma at the Stadio Breda. After Estrella Galeazzi opened the scoring for the visitors, Salcedo, Rizzo and Colidio goals in the second half sealed the win for Inter.

The Nerazzurri started in encouraging fashion while Roma looked to defend and play on the break. In the sixth minute, Merola found Esposito with a backheel but the no.11’s shot was blocked at the expense of a corner. A minute later, Merola was stopped in the middle of the area just as he was about to get a shot away. Inter continued to attack. Salcedo missed the target from a good position before the ball didn’t fall kindly for Esposito who was in a good position. In the 16th minute, Salcedo was on the end of another big chance but he couldn’t keep his header on target from Pompetti’s corner. As has often happened this season, the U-19s created a number of chances but without capitalising before the opposition took advantage of their first sight of goal. A corner was played in from the right, the ball bounced around the area before Estrella got there ahead of Dekic to make it 1-0 in the 22nd minute.

The Nerazzurri didn’t take long to respond in the second half though. After just two minutes, Salcedo beat Cardinali from the edge of the area with a wonderful shot across goal. In the 56th minute, Inter went ahead through Rizzo who applied the finish from a great Pompetti assist. In the 69th minute, Inter almost made it 3-1 when Colidio worked to get the ball and give it to Roric but his shot was turned onto the post by the Roma goalkeeper. Inter continued to control the game and pose a threat with Roma not troubling Dekic in the final 15 minutes. In stoppage time, there was time for Colidio to add another after Salcedo won a penalty.

It finished 3-1 at the Stadio Breda with Inter deservedly claiming the three points to go second in the table. Next Monday, the 71st edition of the Viareggio Cup will kick off against Braga.
