Marotta: "Our sole focus is on Cagliari"

CAGLIARI – As usual, CEO Sport Giuseppe Marotta was interviewed by Sky Sport prior to kick-off. Here’s what he had to say ahead of Cagliari vs. Inter: "This evening, we’ve got an important match ahead of us, and the focus of the Club, the team and the Coach is solely on this. We deserved to win in Florence, so our regret and anger at having lost two points need to provide us with motivation for today’s match. The fight we’re in with Milan and Roma to qualify for the Champions League is a fantastic and fascinating one. It’s also good for our league. We need to continue going forward at pace, we absolutely need the three points because the chasers are snapping at our heels. There’s unity with the Coach, we want to achieve the important objectives that we’ve set ourselves for the final part of the season together. These aims are vital for our growth process."

Finally, he spoke about Mauro Icardi: "Football is a team sport, not an individual one. A lot continues to be said about him, but we are dealing with the matter internally and directly with the player himself.  There is no need to fix anything because there has been no split. Nobody has ever talked about letting go of Icardi."
