MILAN – On Saturday, Inter will take to the pitch to play Parma in what will be their 23rd Serie A fixture of the season. In collaboration with Opta, here are the facts and figures you need to know ahead of the match.

Inter and Parma will be facing each other for the 50th time in Italy’s top division. The Nerazzurri have won 19 of those games, with the Crociati having come out on top 16 times. The two sides have faced each other a total of three times in February, with all of these matches ending all square. There have been a total of 14 draws between the teams in Serie A.

On average, Inter are the team that have had the ball the most so far this season. On the other hand, D’Aversa’s side have had the least amount of possession.

Despite conceding in the first half in their past two Serie A matches, the Nerazzurri can boast at having the best defence when it comes to the amount of goals conceded during the first half of games so far this campaign.

Milan Skriniar is the defender who has won the ball back the most in Serie A (144 times), while Samir Handanovic has the highest save percentage of all the goalkeepers who have made at least ten appearances.

Kwadwo Asamoah’s only ever brace in Italy’s top division came against Parma in April 2012 while he was playing for Udinese. Keita scored his first goal in Serie A against the Crociati in November 2013 while on Lazio’s books.

One player who is yet to celebrate a goal against Parma is Radja Nainggolan: out of all the teams the Belgian has not scored against in Serie A, the Ducali are the team the midfielder has faced the most times (ten in total).

Jonathan Biabiany, Federico Dimarco and Antonio Candreva will be coming up against their former sides. The latter scored three goals in 31 appearances while playing for Parma in the 2010/11 Serie A season.

Matteo Politano will serve the second of a two-match suspension against Parma. Prior to being suspended, the Italian was the only outfield player to appear in Inter’s first 21 games this Serie A season.
