MILAN – Once again, a large number of players from Inter’s Elite Academy have received international call-ups, with a total of 15 players set to represent Italy at the U20, U19, U17 or U15 level. Furthermore, seven Nerazzurri youth players are already on international duty with Italy’s U16 side.
The following is a list of the players that have been called up to represent Italy (along with their position and year of birth):
Italy U20: Gabriele Zappa (defender, 1999) – a get-together in Tirrenia from 10 to 13 February;
Italy U19: Nicholas Rizzo (defender, 2000), Marco Pompetti (midfielder, 2000), Lorenzo Gavioli (midfielder, 2000), Eddie Salcedo (forward, 2001) and Davide Merola (forward, 2000) – from 10 to 13 February, a friendly against France in Siena (on 13 February at 15:00 CET);
Italy U17: Lorenzo Pirola (defender, 2002), Lorenzo Moretti (defender, 2002), Stefano Cester (midfielder, 2002), Niccolò Squizzato (midfielder, 2002) and Sebastiano Esposito (forward, 2002) - from 10 to 14 February, a friendly double-header against Serbia (12 February, kick-off at 15:00 CET in Tamal, Brugnera // 14 February, kick-off at 11:00 CET in Pordenone);
Italy U15: Bryan Bonucci (goalkeeper, 2004), Alessandro Marocco (defender, 2004), Andrea Pelamatti (defender, 2004), Simone Bonavita (midfielder, 2004) – from 10 to 14 February, friendly in Coverciano against Turkey (13 February, kick-off at 15:00 CET).
