Primavera TIM Supercoppa: Quotes from Madonna and Samaden after Inter vs. Torino
Inter Academy

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Both Armando Madonna and Roberto Samaden spoke following Inter’s defeat to Torino in the Primavera TIM Supercoppa (you can read the match report here). This is what they had to say:
Armando Madonna: "The team have grown a lot, but at the end of the day winning is what counts. Torino won today and need to be congratulated. I was happy with our performance from the start of the second half onwards, we finished in the ascendency. We were just missing that little bit of quality that would have given us the lead and instead wasted too many chances. In terms of their commitment and determination, I can’t fault the lads. Now we need to focus on recovering. Today's game makes us even more aware that we’re capable of playing on an equal footing with anyone."
Roberto Samaden: "The team and Coach can only be praised, we came up against a very strong side with a lot of know-how. We put heart into it and showed quality, while we also tried to limit what the opposition could do. The team demonstrated that they're growing. The fact that so many young players are involved (Persyn and Esposito for example) shows that the Elite Academy really does give its "young" talents opportunities. It’s normal to feel a bit disappointed, even if we did probably deserve to get more out of it. We had many chances that we couldn’t quite convert, perhaps this is the biggest regret. The present is important, but the future is even more so. I would like to once again underline the good work that our Coach Armando Madonna is doing."
