APPIANO GENTILE - The Nerazzurri Under-19s will tomorrow start their series of tough matches away to Udinese. In addition to league action, they’re also preparing for games in the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa and the Viareggio Cup. Ahead of this tricky run, Coach ArmandoMadonna had this to say to Inter TV: “We must continue on the same path that we’ve taken over the past few months, even if recently we’ve conceded a bit too much to our opponents. The match against Udinese is extremely important, particularly in view of our Supercoppa match vs. Torino. We must focus on the game in hand in Friuli, with the aim of gaining ground on those ahead of us in the league.
“The team has matured, managing to win some games even we weren’t 100 percent. We need to work hard, maintaining high intensity in training and looking to always head out onto the pitch with the right attitude.”
As for a summary of his season so far, which is his first with the Nerazzurri, Madonna added: “I’m pleased because you can work well here at Inter. I joined this family on tiptoes, although now I feel involved in everything that I do. We’ll evaluate things at the end of the year, although at this moment in time you can’t hide the fact that we’ve grown and worked well. Working at Inter requires you to win at all times and transmitting this mentality to the younger players is never easy. However, I must acknowledge that our mentality has improved. The main aim is to make the team think big, never to feel satisfied, always think of improving, making sacrifices and giving their all out on the pitch.”
