Spalletti: "We need to be more organised"

TURIN - A goal from Izzo in the 35th minute proved decisive during Torino vs. Inter on Sunday, with the Nerazzurri losing 1-0 on matchday 21 in Serie A TIM: “We came into the game looking to respond to their physicality,” said Luciano Spalletti after the match. “The difference was a goal conceded from a set-piece, which is what we feared. Once we conceded then everything became increasingly difficult, even if playing tidy football here is never easy. We tried to force things on an individual level but we never managed to get back into the game.”

As for his starting line-up, Spalletti added: “We made a different choice, based on physicality, because Perisic was struggling with a knock, Politano wasn’t feeling great and Keita was injured. We hoped to create something more with two strikers and in the first half we didn’t capitalise on a few situations that could’ve given us the lead.”

"We need to restructure the principles of the team and how we play," added the Coach when speaking about the work to be done ahead of upcoming fixtures. We need to be more organised. When we went behind, we looked to do things more as individuals, instead, everyone must focus on their tasks."

Finally, there was a comment on Ivan Perisic. "I already expressed myself yesterday at the press conference, players can say what they want but they are professionals, so for him to leave, a club needs to be there to buy him and they need to recognise his value."
