EMPOLI – Giuseppe Marotta gave an exclusive interview to Inter TV following the match between Empoli and Inter: “The result was the most important thing today, not our performance. We managed to get the three points, but we can’t rest on our laurels despite being in a good position in the league. This match was simply a test that we’ve managed to pass, we’ll be able to get a degree at the end of the season. We have to continue to work with determination and motivation while always applying ourselves in the correct way: all these things are important in order to continue to grow. I think both the Coach and the squad should be given credit, with their work being reflected in our league position. We took a small step in the wrong direction in Verona, but our recent results have generally been positive. This group has quality and just needs to develop more of a winning mentality: there are games where you have to show strength and determination to pick up the three points despite not necessary playing your very best.”
Marotta then expressed what he would like to see happen next: “We hope that 2019 is an even better year than 2018. I would like to wish all Inter fans a very happy new year and thank them on behalf of the club for their constant support. As for us, we are committed to bringing further joy to everyone in 2019. We hope that we’ll all be able to join each other in celebrating something important soon.”
