— Dec 11th 2018A magnificent second-half performance from Madonna's side results in a 3-0 win after goals from Adorante, Roric and Colidio
MILAN – Inter Primavera produced a fantastic performance in their final group stage match of this season’s UEFA Youth League. Armando Madonna’s side was excellent in the second half and ran out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Adorante, Roric and Colidio. It was another fantastic result for the Nerazzurri, who demonstrated the quality they have in their ranks once again. Inter will have to wait for the result at the Mini Estadi between Barcelona and Tottenham to see if they’ve progressed from their group, with Madonna’s side hoping that Tottenham fail to win in Barcelona so that they can continue their European journey. Inter had most of the ball in the first half and were looking to get their wide attacking players on the ball in an attempt to get the upper hand in the match, but Madonna’s side struggled to threaten Van Dorp’s goal. PSV defended really deep in the opening 45 minutes, with the Dutch side hoping to make the most of Aboukhlal’s pace on the counter-attack. There were no real chances before the break as both sides continued to make mistakes. Inter could have taken the lead at the end of the first half, but nobody was there to convert Zappa’s dangerous cross. Inter started the second half well as Zappa couldn’t quite find the back of the net following Persyn’s cross. This chance served as a prelude to the Nerazzurri’s opening goal: Adorante got his head on the end of Pompetti’s perfect free kick to score his ninth goal of the season. Armando Madonna’s side continued to push forward, and Inter could have doubled their lead through Persyn, but his effort was unfortunately too weak to find the back of the net. After 70 minutes, the Nerazzurri had another chance, but Adorante fired wide after terrific work by Facundo Colidio.
Nevertheless, Inter did score their second eight minutes later as Roric found the back of the net with a great strike from the edge of the area. And it got better for the home side at the Breda: a ball played in by Gavioli was met by Colidio, who headed the ball in to make it 3-0. This capped off an excellent performance and secured three vital points for Madonna’s side.
The Nerazzurri now occupy second place and will be hoping that Barcelona get a positive result to ensure qualification!INTER 3-0 PSV EINDHOVENGoalscorers: 64' Adorante, 78’ Roric, 81’ Colidio
