MILAN – The name of the city is enough to summarise the video that was made to present this season’s third shirt to the Inter supporters.
Milano and Inter. Two faces of the same coin, born from the fusion of many multiple elements. One being the marble of the Duomo, in the presence of which the club was founded in 1908 and from which, 110 years later, this new shirt would be sculpted.
But who is the ideal architect for this piece of sculpture? Milan Škriniar plays the starring role in the presentation video to tell us. He’s a man with Milano in his destiny, beyond the nominative determinism. He’s a symbol of a marble-like defence in protection of the Nerazzurri’s goal.
Just as we’re used to seeing him on the pitch, the Slovakian number 37 sweats and grafts to sculpt a large block of marble. This is framed by a series of visual flashes showing the details of the Duomo.
The key moment comes at the end when Skriniar shows his work to all. He puts the third kit on and climbs on to the block of stone with his hands still dirty and covered in dust.
The viewer is overcome by an authentic display of belonging and connection. That of Milano and Inter.
The presentation video moves away from classic football tropes and adopts a more aesthetic style such as that of fashion. Milano is a synonym for style and such references take on an even greater value just a few days before the start of Milano Fashion Week.
Now, the third kit is ready to be worn on the pitch for Inter vs. Parma as the union of two pillars that stand behind the city: fashion and Inter.
