Spalletti: "We lack confidence and peace of mind"

MILAN – During the match in the 23rd round of Serie a fixtures, a goal from Eder wasn’t enough to beat Crotone. “You can’t avoid the fact that we have to say that we’re in difficulty, we’re not able to be fluid like we were at the start. We didn’t offer enough of a technical performance or enough in terms of spirit, we’ve fallen off a bit in everything. I take responsibility for this situation. We conceded after an unlucky bounce, but up front we weren’t precise or determined. The guys work every day and they did good things in the week but they’re not calm or confident enough to transfer that to the pitch.” 

“We’re fragile, as soon as something goes wrong we lose confidence and show that we have a bit of a weak character. There’s no other way, we need to be rational in how we do things and create a system of work that can bring confidence as we pursue our objectives. Negative moments are contagious. We need to stay calm and be strong mentally to analyse things in the right way.”
