Milan - Inter won the Supercoppa Primavera TIM with a last-gasp victory over Roma. Colidio scored either side of a Marcucci equaliser in a 2-1 win for Stefano Vecchi's side at the San Siro.
The opening moments of the match lived up to expectations and it was all action from the first whistle at the Meazza. Inter needed just three minutes to make the breakthrough as Emmers found room on the left and his cross from the byline reached Colidio in the middle of the box. The Argentine attacker's first effort was blocked but he showed a good turn of pace to convert the rebound. Roma hit back four minutes later when Pissardo came out well to the feet of Antonucci only to see the ball fall to Marcucci who finished impressively to make it 1-1.
The sides continued to trade blows with the Nerazzurri's Odgaard twice denied by Romagnoli whilst Pissardo had to save well from Riccardi to keep the score at 1-1. The end of the first half saw Vecchi's outfit step on the accelerator. Brignoli could not make it 2-1 when his light touch round Romagnoli was stopped a couple of metres from the line before a Roma defender just took the ball away from Odgaard as he bore down on goal.
The Nerazzurri started the second half on the front foot. Colidio had two good chances to regain the lead for Inter but his first attempt - a backheel from Odgaard's cross - was blocked before he couldn't quite sort his feet out when in a good position after being found once again by his teammate. The pace of the game then began to slow but Odgaard worked Romagnoli again on 66' with a left-footed shot that was too close to the goalkeeper.
Inter were still making the running and came within inches of a winning goal on 82'. Sala found himself free on the edge of the six-yard box and the left back hit it hard and true but Romagnoli somehow managed to keep it out. The Roma 'keeper then saved his team again on 90' by just about getting his foot to Rover's close range effort. Despite a wave of attacks in the closing stages, it was all square after 90 minutes so extra time was needed.
A series of chances came along for the Nerazzurri in the first period of extra time. Rover took a cross-shot that was parried by Romagnoli and Odgaard struck the bar in the opening moments of the second 15 minutes. There was also a chance for Belkheir who controlled in the area and shot left-footed but Romagnoli was there again to save at the second attempt. In the end, the Giallorossi defence was only breached by a stroke of genius from Colidio who found space in the area to execute a spectacular overhead kick.
Referee Volpi's whistle sounded to confirm the first ever Supercoppa Primavera victory in the history of FC Internazionale. It is the 46th trophy won by Inter's youth teams and the fourth under Vecchi following wins in the 'Viareggio' and the TIM Cup plus a Scudetto.
