Stefano Vecchi's Under-19s won big in the second leg to book a place in the playoff to take place on 6/7th February

ESBJERG - The Nerazzurri Primavera’s three days in Denmark closed in the best of ways. In the match during the second round of the UEFA Youth League - Domestic Champions Path, Stefano Vecchi’s side built on the 4-1 lead from the home leg and won 6-0 away at Esbjerg to book a place in the playoff on 6th/7th February.

Despite the big lead built up at the Breda, Inter started strongly from the off and were ahead after just four minutes through Schirò. From a corner, the ball found its way to the midfielder who beat Kikkenborg with an accurate left-foot shot to the near post. Esbjerg looked to respond with a Nielsen free kick and dangerous Sonderlund header but Dekic responded to save both times. Vecchi’s team kept attacking as Sala went close and Zaniolo was stopped at last moment by Kikkenborg coming off his line. In the 31st minute, Odgaard found the way through with a low shot as soon as he got into the area.

It was the same story after the break and Inter found the net again five minutes in. This time, it was Pinamonti to beat Kikkenborg with a header from Rover’s cross on the right. Despite qualification being secure, the Nerazzurri didn’t take their foot off the accelerator. Odgaard scored just after the hour with a deflected strike and he then set up Visconti who had just come on for Zaniolo for his first Inter Primavera goal two minutes later. Pinamonti also had the joy of scoring a brace in the 72nd minute as Sala won a penalty which he converted to make it 6-0.

The final whistle confirmed that Inter were through and will now wait until Monday 11th December to see who the opponent from the Champions League Path will be for the playoff on 6/7th February with 90 minutes in Milan to decide who goes to the last 16!
