SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – The third win in ten days for the Under-19s came after they beat Fiorentina 2-0 in their sixth Primavera 1 TIM fixture of the season. Goals from Lombardoni and Rover sent Inter level with Atalanta at the top of the table.
The Nerazzurri got off to an agressive start and looked to control early. From an Emmers corner, a kind deflection saw Lombardoni’s effort find the net and his second goal in two straight league games put Inter ahead.
In the later period of the first half, the Nerazzurri continued to look dangerous while in search of a second goal with the Viola goalkeeper making a miraculous save from Sala 15 minutes from the whistle.
The match heated up before the final whistle. Fiorentina missed a chance to equalise through Ranieri. Emmers then set up Zaniolo but the goalkeeper was able to make the save. Rover looked to wrap things up in the 83rd minute but Ghidotti made a miraculous save. In the 90th minute, the ball bounced around the area before Rover applied the finish to secure the three points.
