After receiving his award on Monday, the Nerazzurri tactician had this to say to the Inter Channel: “We face a very important match against Spal"

COVERCIANO - Both Luciano Spalletti and Massimo Moratti were among the winners during Monday’s prestigious ‘Nereo Rocco’ prize ceremony, with the former receiving the Sports Award and the latter receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. During the event at Coverciano, the Nerazzurri coach did take the time to speak with the Inter Channel and had this to say: “It’s wonderful to be placed among some great personalities that have received the Nereo Rocco Award before me. I will protect it with great care because it’s a really important prize.”

“I think I’m someone who loves sport and one who wishes well to those who have respect. I feel at ease when confronted with qualities that are the similar to my own and at Inter there are lot of professionals who have the same positive characteristics as the players I train. I feel at home here. Eleven years after his passing, I would also like to remember Giacinto Facchetti. For the Inter world he is an important figure and now I am one of your own, I would like to send my thoughts to the family.”

To conclude, Spalletti was also keen to send a message to the fans ahead of his team’s next fixture at the San Siro: “To receive affection and compliments from Inter fans has a huge impact, although I only feel strong when I have a strong team, one with quality and values. We have the chance to please our support, whose passion is detected all across the world. If we know how to repay this sentiment through the Nerazzurri colours, then our fans will give us a huge helping hand. Let’s start this Sunday, when we’ll need the Inter fans’ support and intensity for what will be an extremely important match. Spal have started very well and have quality within their side. They’ve picked up four points by drawing at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio and by also beating Udinese,  therefore we will need everyone’s support.”
