Squad greet the fans at Inter Village in Brunico

RISCONE DI BRUNICO - It was a special evening in Brunico as the entire Nerazzurri squad and coaching staff appeared on stage at Inter Village to greet the fans.

One by one they were called up for a wave and, in some cases, to say a few words, receiving cheers and chants in return.

Club captain Mauro Icardi said: "All I can say is thank you to all the Inter fans who come here every year to get behind us. You're behind us all year long – Inter have more fans at the stadium than anyone in Italy and you're the best. Thanks and Forza Inter!"

Luciano Spalletti also got a rousing reception and he had a message for the crowd of Interisti in attendance.

"You've given me your love and support from day one and it's a wonderful feeling because I feel the same. But you need to channel your energy towards the players because they're the ones who will get us the results. Do that if you want to help me and keep showing your love."
