Nerazzurri midfielder named in new boss Sampaoli's first line-up as the Albiceleste edge their rivals in Melbourne friendly


MELBOURNE – Ever Banega helped Argentina defeat Brazil in Jorge Sampaoli's first match since he took charge of the Albiceleste.

Gabriel Mercado scored the only goal of the game in the 44th minute as the new boss began his reign with a 1-0 win.

The Nerazzurri midfielder played 81 minutes before being replaced by Manuel Lanzini.
