Inter U12 win Mundalito 2017

MILAN – Fabio Sacco’s Esordienti side have won the prestigious Mundialito 2017 tournament held in Catalunya.

The youth tournament included numerous big clubs from all over the world, such as Barcelona, Liverpool, Juventus, Sporting Lisbon, Porto, Botafogo, Corinthians, Levante, Schalke 04, Deportivo la Coruna, Angola, Club America, Oslo, Selection USA, Kashima and Club Atletico.

Inter eased through the group stages with victories over the Norweigan Football Academy (7-1), Waiblingen (11-0) and Dragones (6-1) before beating South African outfit US Supersport 5-2 in the last-32. That was then followed up by thrashing against Brazil XI (13-1) in the Round of 16.

Sacco’s boys then overcame Angola 4-3 in the quarters and then defeated Sporting Lisbon on penalties in the semis.

After normal time ended 3-3 in the final against Levante, Inter once again triumphed through a penalty shoot-out and some phenomenal saves from the keeper.

Inter U12 fully deserved to lift the trophy after a perfect run through the competition.
