NAGGALAMA – There was a festival feeling at Inter Campus Uganda for our recent visit that coincided with the five-year anniversary of the sponsorship agreement with MP Filtri.
The company from Pessano con Bornago in Milan specialises in producing industrial filters and has backed our project enthusiastically, a mark of the importance they put by corporate social responsibility. The head of MP Filtri's marketing department wanted to come on the visit personally to hand out Inter shirts, as well as school material and other clothing, to the girls and boys at St. Joseph's Primary School.
One of two Inter Campus Weeks throughout the year, the children don the Nerazzurri jerseys for all of their lessons, as well as training sessions and matches. The sight of the little ones wearing the famous black-and-blue everywhere the eye could see lends a magical and unique element to the atmosphere. Whether it be playing, studying, doing tasks or relaxing, their precious Inter shirts never left their bodies.
School principle Josephine Nabuyungo, who the Padua-based CUAMM – Doctors with Africa organisation recommended to us a few years ago, is the heart of this little Nerazzurri corner in Africa. Together with the support of the teachers, including the fantastic Fred Mpanga and Michael Kutosi, she has passionately got behind our sporting and educational project.
Alberto and Lorenzo gave a theoretical and practical training course to 16 instructors at the school and, on this occasion, they were joined by nine other teachers from nearby establishments, since the project also aims to increase the number of people getting education across the board.
In this respect, it's had a lot of success and the local district in which Naggalama is located is aiming to make the school the centre of regional sporting activities. Thanks to MP Filtri, our efforts continue to be safe and fruitful, and we'll be back with more material in June.
See you soon Naggalama!
