ALTOPASCIO – Stefano Vecchi has been reacting to Inter U19’s comprehensive 4-0 win over Cagliari to reach the Viareggio Cup quarter finals.
"We approached the game perfectly in terms of our intensity, attitude and set-up on the pitch," he began to Inter Channel. "We did fantastically to score early on and set the right tone for the match.
"We controlled the result in the second half, keeping the ball and hardly risking anything at all. Judging by what we've seen so far, this is definitely the best we have performed in this competition. We’re in good shape and I was able to rotate the squad today as well. It’s just a shame about Rivas’ injury; he’s an important player for us and he’s been having an extraordinary season."
Vecchi also praised Karlo Butic for his starring role in the game, scoring a brace that ensures he’s the leading goalscorer at the Viareggio Cup.
"His attitude changed in January and, like Souare, he’s getting more action as a result. Whoever shows they are always contributing their utmost will get their chances. This is an important source of motivation for the whole squad."
