Icardi: "We must stay focused on ourselves"

Disappointment and optimism from the captain after Roma defeat: "A shame to come away empty-handed because we prepared well for this game. We'll keep plugging away"


MILAN – Mauro Icardi says Inter must remain focused on themselves in the wake of Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Roma.

Speaking to Inter Channel after the final whistle, the skipper said: "We'd prepared well for the game during the week and we were really up for it but two brilliant goals by [Radja] Nainggolan made the difference tonight. We're disappointed to come away empty-handed because we worked hard for this match.

“We have to stay focused on our season and on playing each game as it comes. We'll add everything up at the end. We just need to keep plugging away and focusing on ourselves.”
