"We wanted to get back on track in the league. Now we have two head to heads," said the Primavera boss after the 4-0 win over Salernitana

MILAN Stefano Vecchi has praised his side for shaking off the Coppa Italia disappointment to stretch their winning streak to seven games in the league with a 4-0 defeat of Salernitana.

"It was important to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible after we got knocked out of the Coppa Italia," Vecchi told Inter Channel after the final whistle on Sunday. "We wanted to get back on track in the league. We started very well, but then we switched off a bit. We did what we had to do in the second half and got the three points.

"We have a good lead over third place, but this is a tough group and we have two big tests against direct rivals for the Final Eight in Virtus Entella and Roma. If we get a result in those games we can go a long way towards sealing qualification. It won’t be easy, especially with all our injury concerns, but the lads have shown they can step up."

Check out the full interview with the Primavera coach on Inter Channel at 19:30 CET.
