"They deserved to go through. Now let's focus on the league and the championship play-offs." Read the Primavera coach's take on the TIM Cup exit

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Stefano Vecchi believes this afternoon's result in the Primavera TIM Cup semi-final second leg was a fair reflection of the contest.

"We weren't able to score the goal we deserved in the first half," the Primavera coach began. "It was more balanced in the second half but yet again we've conceded from a lapse in concentration. We then gifted them the second goal and you can't do that against Roma. Looking at both ties, it's fair that they've gone through.

"We could have made a game of it if we had scored in the first half. We muddled things a bit too much by trying to play it long to our strikers. We created danger but not enough to get through.

"Andrea Pinamonti is a modern, well-rounded striker. He doesn't just try to score goals but he helps the team as well. He was excellent in the first half and found the net in the second.

"Now let's focus on the league. We'll try to continue making progress in order to reach the championship play-offs and have our say.

"This was a different Inter compared to our other games against Roma. We showed we had character and quality."

You can hear more of Vecchi's post-match views at 19:30 CET on Inter Channel.
