MILAN – Inter is pleased to announced the signing of Roberto Gagliardini from Atalanta. The 22-year-old midfielder joins on a two-year loan deal until 30 June 2018 with obligation to make the move permanent.
"I’m delighted to be an Inter player – this is a dream come true," declared Gagliardini on his first day at the Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti. "I can’t wait to work with Stefano Pioli, meet my team-mates and of course wear this jersey at San Siro, in front of the Inter fans. I want to do my bit to help us achieve what this club deserves."
Born in Bergamo, Gagliardini made his professional debut for Atalanta in the Coppa Italia in the 2013/14 season, before loan spells in Serie B with Cesena, Spezia and Vicenza saw him make a total of 51 appearances and three goals.
Having returned to Atalanta, Gagliardini made his Serie A bow in May 2016. He has 14 Serie A appearances to his name thus far as well as two caps for the Italy U21 side. He has also been called up to the senior side twice by national-team coach Giampiero Ventura.
