A special graphic identity inspired by manga imagery, exclusive content and events: this is how Inter is kicking off its collaboration with Blue Lock in Japan. Art, football and culture merging to create something great: the two brands have started a journey of growth together and the best is yet to come.
Inter and the extraordinary manga world: as the Nerazzurri continue their preseason preparations in Japan, this perfect combination is taking centre stage thanks to the Club’s collaboration with “Blue Lock”, a manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Published in Japan by the illustrious publishing house Kōdansha it is distributed in Italy by Panini Comics.
This very popular manga has engaged millions of readers throughout the world with its innovative football narrative. It consists of a perfect blend of sports and gaming and involves heroes with values and characteristics inspired by stars of the game. Isagi Yoichi is the main character of the series, which tells the story of Japan’s 300 most promising strikers who take part in a revolutionary training regimen at the Blue Lock facility. The aim is to create the world’s best striker who can then lead the Japanese national team to victory in the World Cup.
The collaboration between Inter and Blue Lock provides an opportunity to celebrate the tour in Japan and engage the Club’s Japanese fanbase, although that’s not all. The tour is being accompanied by a graphic identity created in collaboration with Blue Lock. This has made the Club’s digital content output unique and original, starting from the match card that got things rolling on the day of the team’s friendly against Al Nassr. This will be repeated when the Nerazzurri face Paris Saint-Germain: the match card will be an original piece of content that celebrates the new Inter Away Kit.
The connection between Inter and Blue Lock was also enhanced by a dedicated installation in the city of Tokyo, as well as an event at which Nicolò Barella met the authors of the manga. During the 2023/24 season, various collaboration pieces of original content will be produced and other exclusive events will take place. Nerazzurri fans will also have the opportunity to wear a special Inter X Blue Lock T-shirt, which will be launched on the market in the coming weeks. The collaboration is part of an approach that sees Inter delve into the fields of culture and art to reach new generation of fans around the world.
