Born in Bernal on 12 June 1979, Diego Milito grew up with a football at his feet and the desire not just to take on the world, but to conquer it. His passion guided him since he was a child, from the age of just nine when he entered into the youth set-up at Racing Club de Avellaneda, his journey then taking him to Europe in 2004, first with Genoa, then with Zaragoza in Spain, then one more extraordinary season with the Rossoblù before destiny brought him to the Nerazzurri. He simply exploded into life at Inter, it was the perfect combination at the perfect time: passion for football, an astounding eye for goal, superb technique and a skill set that had been developed from years of hard work. All fundamental ingredients to light the flame, and to turn dreams into reality both for Diego himself and for Nerazzurri fans all over the world.

He scored 30 goals in 28 different games in his first season at the Club, the last four of these crowning our historic Triplete: the perfect touch to decide the Scudetto against Siena, a right-footed finish in the Coppa Italia final against Roma and a historic and unforgettable brace against Bayern Munich that night in Madrid to secure the most sacred trophy of them all, the Champions League. His goals and celebrations carried Inter above everything and everyone, to the top of Europe and the world.

Diego Alberto Milito, however, didn’t just bring goals to the team. He always brought a mix of passion, generosity and talent. His kind demeanour yet explosive nature on the pitch meant he immediately made his mark, accompanying him through all his years in Nerazzurri colours, and in all 75 of his goals scored in 171 appearances for the Club. After Giuseppe Meazza and Ronaldo, the Hall of Fame welcomes another true champion: Il Principe.
