MILAN - President Massimo Moratti spoke briefly to journalists this afternoon following UEFA's decision to ban David Suazo for one Champions League match, and the Italian Football League's decision to fine the club and close a section of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for Inter's next home game.
A comment on the one-match inflicted on David Suazo by UEFA's Disciplinary Commission, a ban which will prevent the Honduran striker from playing against CSKA in Moscow?
"If there had been violent conduct there could have been a three-match ban. Nothing had happened but according to the rules there has to be at least a one-match ban... It would have been much more common sensical to admit there had been a mistake and end it there. I'm sorry for Suazo, who will be able to play in the championship."
The Italian Football League's Disciplinary Commission has just announced its decision to close a section of the (Giuseppe Meazza) stadium and fine the club 30,000 euros for the banners displayed during Inter v Napoli. Your comment?
"I have heard about it. I have no comment to make. I wasn't expecting this to happen. I think it's a very serious measure. We will have to be very careful if this is the official line."
